Dreams and
Visions

fillings) and porcelain for making porcelain crowns.

I visited the conference. I was expecting or hoping to talk to other dentists but it was a conference
for dental labs that made and shaded porcelain crowns.

I thought India was a poor country and I assumed this type of service was not provided in India.
I was totally surprised when I spoke with Jon Borde, who is a native of the Pune area. He told
me, “The upper class in India is very rich and have the means for good dental work”.

I didn’t think much about Ivoclar conference until after I was back in MN.  I had a thought about
dental practice in India for the upper class of people of India which is profitable which could
fund the ministries of the bible school, orphanage and the medical clinic.

I talked with Jon Borde about this thought. He was very excited. He stated that Indian people
look for an American way. He felt a dental clinic with American influence would be very
successful.

Inspired by this encounter and my travels to India, Malawi, and Tanzania, I have started to
develop a vision that extends beyond the local Distinctive Dental clinic.  These countries lack
even basic dental care, and the conditions I saw inspired me to turn our practice in a new
direction.  I’m committed to use Distinctive Dental to help do my part to improve dental health
among those who desperately need it and to build the Kingdom of God.

Our vision is to direct part of our profits toward the establishment of a new dental clinic
overseas, which in turn would support a mobile unit offering free dental services to the needy,
as well as providing dental care and funding for local missionaries and orphanages.

However, this vision cannot succeed without your help.  One way you can contribute is by
referring your friends to Distinctive Dental.  Another is to pray that God will bless this endeavor
and that we will attain the necessary income, contacts, and resources to make the vision a reality.
