Healing Ministry

prayer. In his book When Heaven Invades Earth, Bill Johnson writes about the supernatural healing
power of God. I also got to hear him speak with Randy Clark on supernatural healing at a conference
at Hosanna! Lutheran Church. I was open to the idea – God is God, after all, and I don’t want to limit
Him – but it was not until I traveled to India that I had my first personal experiences with
supernatural healing.

My friend and pastor at Hosanna Church, Tim Hatt, challenged me to come along to India for a
campaign. The campaign would be like a Billy Graham crusade: singing worship music, sharing the
story of Christ, and praying. I went to India not knowing what I would find or the experiences of
supernatural healing that awaited me.

The first visible supernatural healing I saw was in our hotel in Anbaranager even before the
campaign started. We finished a prayer and worship time in the conference room. A staff member of
and red. He told us it had been that way for several weeks and was quite painful. We started to pray
and lay hands on him and the swelling in his eyes decreased as we were praying. He was so happy
and other members of the hotel staff asked us to pray for them, too.

Healing at the campaign
After the conference we were praying for healing and blessings for the Indian people who requested
prayer. On the first night a brother and sister asked me to pray for their aunt. She was in intensive
care in the hospital in Mumbai, three hours away, and she was dying. We prayed for healing and
blessing for her. They thanked me and walked away. In the back of my mind I was wondering if I
would ever hear from them again.

On the second night, I was praying for people in the prayer line when I looked up and I saw them.
They were waving and had big smiles on their faces. They came over to talk with me and said, “She’s
doing much better. She is responding. Can we pray for more healing?”  The third night of the
crusade, they returned with family members. They told us, “She’s out of intensive care with no
antibiotics and is doing great!”  They asked for more prayer for her and blessings for the family
members. All of them were very excited. On the fourth and final night, they returned with even more
family members and a beautiful Indian garment as a gift to show their appreciation for my prayers.
We told them that it was God who had healed her through our prayers and faith.

The last twist on the story is that the day they gave me the garment was my birthday. I missed the
chance to celebrate my birthday with my family because of the trip. My daughter had been sad that I
was not going to receive a gift on my birthday, but God arranged for a supernatural birthday gift for
me!

I believe God is a healer, whether through prayer, medicine, or supernatural healing. I have the
garment on display in my dental office with a scrap book about my trip. Please contact us if you have
questions or need prayer or healing.
